ABOUT

Traditional, Gluten-friendly, & Vegan items available

Welcome to Your Kind of Wellness, LLC! My name is Kara and I am a Certified Holistic Health Coach (Institute for Integrative Nutrition, graduated in 2012) with an extensive background/degree in Communications (Interpersonal) and Human Relations. As an American Italian, Holistic Health Coach, and a lover of food, it was only a matter of time until I found a way to merge all three together. Not only is food a love language, it is my love language. Food is love & I kept finding myself talking about its importance to everyone I met. I made adjustments along the way of what I would and would not eat, including how I would cook and bake for myself, others included. I had taken a blood test through my naturopathic doctors and learned that egg, refined sugars, and ultimately regular American flour did not do my body right. So, I had to pivot and approach how I ate quite differently. With cooking, that was easy. Now remember, I LOVE food and eating is one of my favorite hobbies so I wasn't going to deprive myself of anything. We don't do that here :). I was making slight alterations. But with baking, everything that your typical dessert is comprised of was now something I could no longer tolerate. Going shopping was a frustrating experience because refined sugar is hidden in nearly everything, egg is in so many items to bind them together or make them light and fluffy, and American flour being the base for most baked goods is an incredibly low quality flour due to the way it is grown, processed, and regulated here making it tough because it is a staple in baking. So…what did I do?

Considering SO MUCH of what I found in stores was inedible because let’s be real, they are more “food-like” products and not actually food, I had no other option but to experiment. I would dabble with cakes, cookies, brownies, and desserts galore while having my family taste test them as well. They loved this part. I mean, who wouldn't? While I was doing this to find items my family and I could eat, I kept getting asked, "Why aren't you selling these to the public?"

So, here I am making and selling all baked goods made with:

As organic ingredients as possible

No refined sugars, ever

Egg free

Ingredients your body can recognize & trust

”Goodness Without the Guilt”

Untitled

Welcome to Your Kind of Wellness where we live by the saying “Goodness Without the Guilt”! ⁣⁣

⁣⁣

As a Certified Holistic Health Coach who has an affinity for sensational food, I’ve done my best, since I can remember, to always find a way to combine health and deliciousness.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

Just because something is healthy/healthier, does 𝐧𝐨𝐭 mean it must be deprived of taste. ⁣⁣

⁣⁣

Oftentimes I go out to eat and order a meal, and while eating it I think to myself, “I could ABSOLUTELY make this at home with better ingredients” and then I usually do 😋. ⁣⁣

⁣⁣

I use as many 𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘤 ingredients as possible as they are minimally processed, have lower usage of pesticides/harmful chemical/toxins, and are as 𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 as possible. ⁣⁣

⁣⁣

Ever seen the 90’s movie “Simply Irresistible” with Sarah Michelle Gellar? You may remember the magical crab ✨ 🦀 😂. This movie was 𝐁𝐄𝐘𝐎𝐍𝐃 ahead of its time and is one of my absolute favorite movies for a myriad of reasons! One of them being the sheer fact that her emotions go into everything she creates.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

Cue ME 🙋🏻‍♀️💁🏻‍♀️! Hi, hello lol. That movie, along with my Italian upbringing, molded the way I saw food and human relationships. As Italians, we love to “take Kara” those we love, and one of those methods is by feeding them. If you know, you know. If you don’t, find yourself some Italian friends 😂. ⁣⁣

⁣⁣

This is what I do with Your Kind of Wellness, LLC. It is 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘵 the 𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐭 because:⁣

A.) High-quality ingredients (organic as possible, non-refined sugar, & egg-free, always) are used in every food item baked

B.) Nourishing, satisfying, and good for you food helps cultivate and sustain a more loving relationship we have with food and our body

C.) Food is life! I don't believe in shaming ourselves for wanting to eat delicious amazing foods, or even food for that matter! I believe we are meant to live a life where we feel at ease with the choice we make EVEN in a society that PROMOTES and THRIVES on us hating ourselves so they can succeed. Seriously? No. In the words of the Black Panther, "We don't do that here." What we do here is make choices that are in support of "Taking Kara Ourselves".

We can absolutely eat a chocolate decadent cake without feeling like we are deprived or depressed afterwards when we know the ingredients are that of quality -- not a list of chemical laden ingredients that our body cannot recognize nor break down properly. Society is who has it backwards, not us.

I do my best to promote a loving, kind, nourishing relationship between myself and food. I hope that you will be able to taste that when you sink your teeth into my baked goods, experiencing every ounce of “Goodness Without the Guilt”.

FAQS

You've got questions? I’ve got answers!

WHAT NON-REFINED SUGARS DO YOU USE?

Organic coconut sugar, organic maple syrup/sugar, or organic date sugar. I do not use any sugar alcohols or artificial sweeteners.

Do you have a storefront?

“Your Kind of Wellness, LLC” operates under the cottage law which means I am able to make my baked goods from my home kitchen and do not need to bake in a commercial kitchen. Each item has every ingredient listed on its label along with any known allergens.

I have a specific way of eating -- how can I place an order with you?

Easy! Just send me an email and I will be in touch within 24-48 hours to clarify.

Are your baked goods specifically vegan and/or gluten free?

My baked goods range from traditionally made (organic Italian flour, grass fed butter, and organic milk), vegan, and gluten friendly. My kitchen is not vegan nor is it gluten free but I do offer baked goods that are vegan and gluten friendly (gluten free but made in a kitchen where gluten is present). If you are or are purchasing an item for someone who is highly sensitive to gluten or is celiac, please know that my kitchen is not a gluten free kitchen and would not be the best option for them - all baked goods are made in a kitchen that uses common allergens such as gluten, tree nuts, dairy, shellfish.

I see you offer coaching -- how can I start working with you?

Contact me directly via email and we will set up a complimentary health history. From there, we will see if we are a good fit for one another and go over my 1, 3, & 6 month program details.

Happy Taste Buds Reviews

“One of my sweetest friends makes the sweetest treats! Her ‘Goodness Without the Guilt” organic homemade baked goods are out of this world! I’m already planning my next order!”

This is a cake one thinks about during the day, wondering whens a good time to eat it again. Breakfast? It makes a perfect breakfast. The succulent pineapple in a bite tantalizes the mouth, the darker color of the cake helps justify the breakfast vibes, like it could be a waffle. Would I eat it for lunch? Yes! its a full experience. Dinner? Yes! Pre dinner too. And of course dessert. This cake takes the cake!
